OK, I've had T5s over my 75 for almost a year now and I'm happy with them. However with all the talk about LEDs and actually seeing them on a buddy's tank it makes me want to try them out. So what I'm thinking is doing both. What I'm planning is 48 3w Cree LEDs and 3 54w T5s and I was thinking about setting them up like this:

Blue+
24 LEDs 50/50 blue/white
Purple+
24 LEDs
Blue+

Please let me know what you think or what you would suggest. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Considering the same thing on my new 150 (36x36x27), except using 24w T5s instead of the 39w lamps. Maybe a few more LEDs

I thought about going all LED but this is a little easier on the wallet. And this way I can go all LED or back to T5 five if I want without losing as much money.

Any thought on my choice of bulbs?

On my main tank I still use T5s. They are on for only four hours a day for a high noon blast of light I like the results. I posted this youtube before but thought it would help here.
