My girlfriend got my the Red Sea Nano XL for my birthday this year. This will be our third tank, and the first I am really planning out.

The rockscape:

Forgot to take more pictures before filling that give a better 3D perspective.

Full on uglies. Thought it wouldn’t happen, but it did.

Critters:
Six-line wrasse
Long-nose hawkfish
Chalk basslet
Goby
Banggai cardinal (rip, virus)
Neon dottyback (banished to mini-reef)
2 turbo snails
4 astrea snails
4 blue leg hermit crabs
4 narcissus snails
2 rock anemones
2 hammers
1 sea whip
1 dragon soul favia
1 bizzaro cyphastria

Added a ball of cheato and some dragon’s breath to display since I haven’t figured out a refugium solution yet.

Pardon the frag placement, just trying to get them acclimated before final placement. I plan to add some more decorative macro algae to the display. Planning for soft corals and gonipora ans montipora towards the top, a torch or two for the middle, and a couple encrusting types at the base, and haven’t decided for the accessory structures around the front.

Eventually, when it comes out, I will add the Reef mat. Also, will switch to the Red Sea ato to free up space so I can add a small hob refugium. My pod population has been decimated by my six-line, who now just hangs out in the cheato box on the back wall. I also am looking to change the outlet with a dual nozzle to get better control over the flow. IMG_0137.jpeg IMG_0163.jpeg
