I got a nice Lord from Dave at Ocean's Floor in Chicago about three months ago (30 polyps) and it has started producing smakll new polyps (literally dozens) along its outer edge.
My question regards propping the colony. If I put the colony next too or a frag of the colony on another rock, will the polyps adhere and begin colonizing that new rock? OR Am I just better of cutting a few frags from the colony and mounting them on plugs, thereby forming small colonies?
I would prefer the "encrusting method" as it seems less invasive to the colony to NOT dremel it into little piecesbut my info and experience with Lords is limited.
Any thoughts?
Anyone?

I was told that lords are not encrusting, they form their own skeleton. So the only option is to cut and glue.

That may be wrong, but its what i was told.

Coralnutz,
You frag with a screwdriver? LOL. Hold your frags together with duct tape too?
Seriously. I saw the pics of some of your frags. Do they "encrust" your plugs or do you end up with many small multipolyp colonies that can only get so large before running out of space??
