Hello I have a 29 gallon(30x12x18) that I'm planning on setting up as my first saltwater tank and I'm wondering are there any kinds of wrasses that I can keep long-term in this tank?

Dimensions are a bit tight for a fairy, and flashers tend to like even more room for their zooming "flashing" tendencies. Wrasseguy has helpful information on fairies:

If it were me, I MIGHT try a lubbocki or an isosceles or brunneus.

Best choice would be the pink streak or one of the possum wrasses. They would all be fine indefinitely.

given that a 29 isn't going to offer a whole lot of room for a "community" setup a six-line would be one of my first choices.
From their coloration, interesting sleeping habit and perpetual hunting for pests and pods make them stand out.
However, i do not recommend a six-line at all if you are even considering adding even one other fish.

Good trouble: Have mushrooms ever become pests in your aquarium?
