Kamoer X2SR placement

My tank is on the first floor. Thinking about putting my saltwater reservoir upstairs and plumbing it down to my Kamoer X2SR. My worry is that the water will siphon down and flood the sump. Will the Kamoer prevent that?

It certainly could flood. Redundant peristaltic valves could help. But it is a novel scenario
