1st, let me say that everything about my tank is either Neptune or Ecotech. I fully support both and have no regrets. The main reason for me adding this module is because I get deployed often for 6 months at a time. I like to have full control over every aspect of my tank, no matter where I am at.
The MXM I am sure will have more benefits down the road for me and for others I am sure. Set up for me was a bit of a pain. When Mobius had all the issues I put each device on its own tank with in the app and I had no more troubles with the app. Now with the MXM, all the devices need to be with in the one tank on that app. So for me I had to put all devices back on one tank in the app and that was time consuming. I have a total of 19 devices.
For the light setup...
I find that having two different toggles ( one for the "day lights" and one for the lunar lights) is a bit much. I think they should be able to put both of those settings in the same toggle. My layout now in fusion with the extra tiles are ALOT.. I can scroll for days to try and find what I am looking for. The good thing is once I got the 1st light set the way I wanted I could just copy the scheme and transfer it to the other lights. Which did speed up the process.
For the Vortechs...
Set up is much like the WAV pumps. I did not like those settings either, but again, once you get one down, you just copy and send it to the next one.
Return pumps...
I have not switched them over yet as I don't see the benefit of doing so. While away I am ok with the ON/OFF function the apex has for me to control them.
Now, my over all opinion of the unit, I could go either way with it. I know alot of people have been waiting for this device and they have been let down with the functions that it has or does not have. For me, I now have an extra way of controlling another aspect of the tank which I could not do before. Again, I leave alot, 6 months at a time.. I like having the controls if I need them. I look forward to what Neptune does with this device as I am sure they are cooking up more uses for it. I also look forward to seeing how others use this device. I will say, another drawback will be when there are issues with the APEX, what happens with the control of the lights? Pumps?? That may be something that no one has thought of. Only time will tell
That is all for now. Look forward to hearing others thoughts and uses on the MXM.
