The petco deresa clams are so easy ime, this is mine, got him when he was around your size 2 years ago? Now he is like 6 inches across. The sand bed where he is at is getting around 100-150 pars. Survived tank crash, got nipped by a fish, alk swing, u name it.

Derasas are the easiest tridacna to care for.
They need moderate light. Nothing too extreme. About 125-225 par will be fine.
They do not need phytoplankton. That is a myth. They receive their nutritional needs from their symbiotic zooxanthella (photosynthesis).
In the ocean, Derasa clams are nested in sand. If you have a deep enough sand bed, you can gently push about an inch of the clam into the sand.

The OP clams is a Derasa. It will not make any significant attachment. It is best leave on the sand as long as the light is bright enough. As long as the tank water condition to be reasonable and bright enough light it will be fine. Feeding is not need, and it won’t help if condition is not optimal.
You need to make sure it does not have parasitic snail infection which is very common, and they it does not has PMD which is fatal if untreated. There are writeup on both of these common condition that kill many clams. I post the links below
