So i got this rock maybe 2 weeks ago and everything is opening up nicely but I see something growing on it and it looked like it moved. I been watching it a few daya now and i seen it clearer before and now its on another side. I tried to take clear pics but it blends in with the rocks. Please tell me if its ok or not!

Can you get a closer picture? Or from another side?

Also nice shrooms.

Less blue and more white light with less saturation might assist in getting a better image.
I moved this thread to the ID thread.
I honestly can not make heads or tails of whether it's plant or animal.

I can only see two tentacles on each. It's amazing that you all can tell its aptasia from that photo. I guess using the iPhone app has its disadvantages.

Oh sorry, aiptasia. They are a pest anemone. There's a bunch of different species, so they can look a little different from each other.

Yup u got it!!!! I just clicked on the link and it looks exactly like tht! How do i get rid of them?

There are a few commercial products that you squirt onto/inject into the aiptasia themselves.

  • Red Sea Aiptasia-X
  • Joe`s Juice Aiptasia Eliminator
  • Ultralife Reef Aiptasia & Majano Remover
  • Blue Life Aiptasia Rx
  • Chem-marin Stop Aiptasia

There's a laser that "zaps them". This is the method I use.

There are "home remedies"
  • Squirt Lemon
  • Squirt Vinegar
  • Cover with epoxy
  • Cover with Super Glue
  • Boiling water
  • Covering with a kalk or calcium slurry

Then there are natural predators

There's more than this, I'm sure.

I use Peppermint Shrimp with good success, but you have to get true Peppermints not their look a like Camel Shrimp. You must make sure to feed the Peppermints daily or they might go rouge and go after LPS or inverts such as Anemones.
