Hey, I’m new to all this and I’m interested in growing a small coral frag in a 1.5 to 2 gallon jar. I just got all the supplies but before I put it all together I want to make sure when adding dr Tim’s one and only, when using a test kit what is the ideal nitrate readings. In general what should I mainly be testing for, I purchased the test strips. Appreciate the help

you want to test for ammonia this will usually clear in about 2 days with bottle bacteria than test nitrites this phase takes a bit longer after nitrites are 0 test nitrate and do a water change if they are too high and i'd say 5-10 nitrates should be fine
