That's a well written list and plus 1 on not getting a mandarin is your new. I took in a spotted one that was starved from someone who didn't have the knowledge of taking care of one, they gave it back to my friend's LFS because they were frustrated with it. I took her in but she was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past saving, so my mission changed from recovery to just giving her some last memories because she deserved a good life after what she went through. I was able to keep her alive for four months, one of my hardest experiences just because of her story and how much I bonded with her, she wasn't too much of a fan of people but I was able to get that changed through kindness. She was my second favorite fish I have/had (sorry, no one can out do my little moray). So please guys, I know they are beautiful, but if you are new, please don't get a mandarin, if you can't care for them, they end up going through so much pain. Sorry for ranting, the mandarin thing just hits close to home for me.
