The tank
I want to thank @i cant think and @SaltyT again for help on the stocking but that stocking was intended for a 180 gallon tank and after some discussion and negotiation I can confirm I will be purchasing my dream tank, a 100g/≈374L tank, and all the equipment needed this afternoon. I believe the dimensions are 120x45x75cm. This tank caught my eye because it has a control panel, lid, includes a 5500lph return pump, heater, has a big sump that is not included in those 100 gallons and other perks.
Stocking
Here are the options in terms of fish that I can get/try to get that have caught my eye.
(I would love 3 of both Pygmy wrasse but let me know if now this tank is now too small)
Yellow banded possum wrasse
Small pink streak wrasse
Carpenter’s flasher wrasse
1x Blue stripe pipefish
1x Juvenile mandarin dragonet
Small ocellated dragonet/scooter blenny
2x Baby clown fish
At least a few small pictus blennies
Yellow clown goby
Green clown goby
Wheeler’s shrimp goby
1x Red firefish
Pinkbar goby
Dragonface pipefish
Bold fish = fish I already have and will/want to add
This tank will be a full Reef tank with small invertebrates like sexy shrimp and bumble bee shrimp so no shrimp eating fish and no not Reef safe fish.
My ideal stocking plan:
3x Yellow banded possum wrasse
3x Small pink streak wrasse
1x Carpenter’s flasher wrasse
2x Blue stripe pipefish
2x Juvenile mandarin dragonet (one male one female)
1x Small ocellated dragonet/scooter blenny
2x Baby clown fish
5x Small pictus blennies
1x Yellow clown goby
1x Green clown goby
1x Wheeler’s shrimp goby
2x Red firefish
1x Pinkbar goby
1x Dragonface pipefish
I know that this ideal plan is probably not feasible so let me know what you would do
Invertebrates plan:
1x Tuxedo urchin
1x Skunk cleaner shrimp
30x Sexy shrimp
12x Bumble bee shrimp
15x Pom Pom crabs
2x Candycane pistol shrimp
10x Nassarius snails
15x Turbo snails
Equipment
For the skimmer I’ll use the
In terms of Wavemaker I’ll go with the
Spectra X120 aquarium light, the aquarium comes with built in lighting and I think combined with this light it should be enough to sustain coral
45kg of live ocean rock
60kg of live sand.
Please let me know if I am missing anything and if you have some stocking ideas, thanks in advance!
Don’t worry I will be setting up a build thread for this tank too!
