I am starting a 150 gallon cube 36x36x27 I currently have 4 AI prime HD. I will plan to eventually add a 5th as I was told 5 would most likely be necessary. I'm wondering if anyone else runs AI prime HD on this size tank or something similar. If so have you been successful? Also I'm in need of mounting ideas? I was told possibly an "x" pattern with some kind of modified rail would be best. Does anyone have experience with this?

It seems to me that that four would be sufficient for that tank.
In terms of spread and intensity.

I honestly would do a mock up and look at the pattern or throws on the ground.
Kinda like I did here.
It’ll tell you how high and how far apart the lights need to be.

The top pic is too high , the bottom is not high enough.
I like to fill the square (or rectangle ) as best I can.

Unfortunately, without a par or cheap $15 lux meter I can’t tell you for sure how much par that will put on the bottom of the tank.
But kinda knowing the lights , I’d still think you’d be ok to at least 100 par on the sand.

For mounting rigs , I honestly don’t know.

I have been looking to start a tank the same dimensions. I think you should be ok with the 4 primes if you decided to do a mixed reef. A full sps system might be difficult. I think you would have great success if to mounted them 1 for each quadrant of the tank. Then in between the lights mounted T5 Bulbs either 1 or 2 totaling 3 or 6 bulbs. That is what I intend to due.

Do you have any idea of how you will go about this
