I think I got the same tank; if its the one with 2 overflows about 10" from each corner.... If so I'm not a big fan of those barbed fittings at the bottom of the pipe. Just from experience I'd rather have those threaded and the pump outlets barbed. How you lighting it?

Ok. I’m back, tank stand is done, and turned out beautiful. I built a steel stand, extra tall and wide open front. Just got it from powder coating. Here’s the progress photos.

Have you picked a return pump yet? I'm building a tank with the same footprint. Trying to pick something quiet and reliable that can power a manifold for reactors.
I’m looking at 2 varios 6’s for my return. I like the adjustablility of the dc pumps and quiet. 2 pumps for redundancy and to feed external skimmer off a manifold. Still designing plumbing, but my live rock is cycling in brute cans already, so hopefully not too much longer.

Welcome. Nice start. Keep the pix coming.

Stands coming along nice. After you put those last 2 6 foot girders it should be good. To support the Eiffel Tower. Kidding, looks great

The stand is 40” to the top of the plywood.

Here is the original stand that came with the tank.

40” definitely looks nice but it makes working on the tank tough. I have the same tank with a 36” stand and can’t reach the bottom even with a step stool.

Congrats on your build. Will be watching. Piece of advice change out the barb fittings on the overflow. I have same tank I upgraded my sump to same as what u got when I was redoing the plumbing the barb fitings will break real easy.

Yeah, this room is 6” lower than the rest of the house which makes the tank look very short when viewing from hallway or living room. I figure like you said, cant reach the bottom when the stand is short anyway, so decided to go for what looked best and will have a stool and grabbers to deal with the 30” tall tank.

What skimmer are you using? I’m finding any rated for this size tank are too big for the Triton 44 sump.

I did just see a tank at our LFS that was 72”x 24” h x 30” front to back. Doing it over, I would have gone that route.

Looking sweet! I like your aquascape. Looks like you're doing it right. Can't wait to see this thing progress, following along for the ride!
