50g Lowboy Frag Tank

Hello All!

Im 17 years old and setting up a 50g Lowboy frag tank which will be plumbed to my main 90g tank. The stand was built by me and measures at 48 X 24 X 33. I built this with 2x4, 2-1/2” exterior screws, and the top plywood is 1/2” sande plywood. I used a miter saw to cut the 2x4 for clean cuts

As this will be plumbed to my main display, I am using a Ecotech Vectra M1 as a return pump. 1” drain pvc and 3/4” return pvc. This project is still a work in progress. Alot more needs to be done but I will continue to give updates!

Thank You! As of now just frags but that might change because I always wanted a lagoon style tank lol. Alot more work still needs to be done so I have time to figure it out

looking good!! i built my current tank and drilled/plumbed it. i haven't dabbled in making stands just yet, but may dive in as i want to have my DT higher.

I got 2 Gyre 350 wave makers. 1 under the overflow and the other on the other side up high for surface agitation.

I also added a 300w Heater for extra heat just in case

Gyres are the best way to go in those tanks, I make some pretty cool 3D printed egg crate holders for rimmed tanks that will definitely help you get the most of the space! Send me a PM and ill send you some info, I use them in all my tanks so I can take full advantage of space.
