Well, after starting over 2 months ago, I figure I ought to start an official tank thread so that I can post updates and others can follow along on this journey.
I posted in the welcome page about 1 month ago, but I’ll provide a few tank specs so that you can follow along.
I have a rimless 6.6 gallon cube with a 30 W Nicrew Hyperreef light, hob filter, hygge nano wave maker, and a heater that I keep at 78°.
I have a few coral frags and am still adding here and there. I have 4 different Zoa frags, a Poci frag, a Candy Cane, gsp that came on a fairly decent size of live rock, some toxic green Palys, Florida Ricordeas, and a duncan coral. For cuc, I have 2 scarlet hermits, 2 astreas, and some hitchhikers (I ended up with a brittle starfish who I have seen more of recently, and 3-4 stomatella snails who came in very small) I also had a ton of copepods during my diatom bloom all of which have balanced themselves out.
About a week ago, I came back from a 2 week trip, which I was nervous about, but all seemed fairly healthy. My ATO seemed to work, and my corals seemed happy (I even saw a good amount of growth on the candy cane and gsp), but the gsp live rock had coralline algae that bleached. My Poci also looked like it had bleached some, but it’s polyps are extending and still green. It’s come back around some since I did my water change as well.
Other than that, I still do 50% water changes weekly and everything seems happy and healthy thus far.
