Hi everyone. So I bought a few acans over the weekend on live auction from Aqua SD. I have never had these but love the coloration from them. I need some advice on care, flow, placement etc. Would appreciate any insight and tips to best care for these

Keep them in lower par and lower flow until they get happy in your system. You can also feed them once or twice a week.

Nice micromussa. U can put the cut potion of plug on reef tile and then put them on the sand if desired. One I have. Clear pic.

They are pretty hardy and forgiving. I have them anywhere from 100 to 250par in different locations in tank all
On rock work That being said I would acclimatize them to tank before trying to expose them to more than 150par. They respond really well to being fed.

I can keep any lps coral but acans. I don’t understand it :(

Keep them low or you risk them losing their rainbow colors and changing to solid orange. Once the color is lost it can be extremely difficult to get back, and sometimes is permanent

That's good to know! Might start them off partly shaded and work them out

I have had hard time before in a different setup to keep torches. Sps is my favorite and having a setup for those I find is hard with smaller tanks to keep flow equal

They like to be on the sand bed... with not too much par light.
They also enjoy getting fed mysis or even pellet food.

Just make sure you have no cleaner shrimp if you feed them, or the shrimp will think of it as a treasure chest, and bug the hell out of it, to make it spit out whatever you fed it, ultimately stunting its growth, or killing it.

And they are very slow growers... don't expect it to double its size every month like some other corals.
