I know there are some folks who think you shouldn't spent more than $30 on a refugium light, but the AI fuge looks interesting. I desperately need to set up a refugium due to a ton of algae is the DT. What are your thoughts on the AI fuge? Price at LFS is $165.

I ran the Freshwater version over my fuge for months. It did a good job. If you want to mount it super close and contain light spill, they’re a great choice IMO.

I looked at the AI fuge, but ended up buying the IM Chaetomax. Although I also liked the lower price, my primary reason was it fit where I needed it to fit.

My recommendation: get whatever best suits your specific requirements.

There's a lot of grow lights for all budgets out there....Amazon has dozens. Been running a 50w no brand light for nearly 2 years with no issues, cost about $40. The fuge lights from aquarium vendors are a total rip off IMHO.

Get what you like and fits asthetic and or space you have. That's what it's all about.
