After buying and setting up my new aquarium in my new house I have to downsize. I purchased everything before I moved in May and come to find the house just really couldn’t handle a tank upstairs so large so it ended up in my basement. I wanted to start a thread here to keep track of the journey but as time went on having a tank in a non living space was becoming a second job with little enjoyment and time spent down there for the hobby. I had set up a 150g SCA plumbed into a 50g lowboy. I also tied these together with a custom 55g sump and 40g refugium. It was a lot of work to say the least.

I have some equipment laying around I will not need for the new tank. These prices are all shipped to the lower 48. All in good shape and less then a year old.

2 icecap 2k with 2 port controller - $200 for all 3 peices

2 reefbuilders rpms - $75each

3 tunze 6015 - $25 each

AI prime 16 black - $100

Maxspect jump skimmer sk400 - $300

Maxspect jump 12k DC return pump - $250

My next journey arrived with an Innovative Marine 50g lagoon aio. This is the perfect size for a space I cleared in my living room. Going from over 250gallons to 50 I can already say I love this tank. I just don’t enjoy crawling under stands anymore so I did an all in one. I will have some pictures to follow later on today.

Welcome to the IM 50 club! Excited to see the progress on this. The footprint on the skimmer looks huge! Where are you planning to run that thing?

Thanks! That skimmer is not making the cut it’s just for sale. Haha

I’m thinking I’ll run the icecap k1 nano, but for now I’ll be skimmerless.

Got everything moved up to the new tank. Started with fresh Special grade sand of course and moved a couple chunks of aqua scape from the 150. I’ll have to get some better pictures. Also need to tidy up some electrical of course.

I plan to add a couple items later but I am trying to keep the AIO pretty simple for now.

As for equipment I am running the following

2 AI prime 16HD i had these already in my t5 hybrid.
A single maxspect gyre 2k for flow
Fennix 300w heater with controller
IN tank filter floss holder
Reefbreeders prism ATO
Apex EL
Apex Dose for my ESV 2 part

I also bought the IN tank refugium and overflow cover. I have not started running it yet because I had a bad outbreak of Aptasia where my cheato was.

Looks awesome! We have the same lighting, one suggestion is to spread those things apart as much you can. I had my lights close together similar to yours and I measured my par yesterday and found a massive hot spot in the center of the tank because of the overlap of light. I actually moved them as far apart as I could and even pointed them towards the edges slightly in order to get a more even spread. I have the PAR map on my build thread if you think it might help, just a thought... Anyways, looking good!

I will for sure look into the map and spread thanks! My lights are definitely turned way down on a long ramp up and down till things readjust. The good thing is these are the same over my 150 aside from 4 hours of t5 at peak.

No problem! I was sort of surprised on how much I had to crank up my lights in order to get my desired par.

Friday update - Still taking down my old systems and selling things off. Hope to get under the tank and finish setting up the apex and cleaning up some wiring soon.

Fish and coral all look healthy and happy! Luna doesn’t look super happy it’s upstairs yet. However she doesn’t enjoy the 30mph winds here either.

Trimmed the cabinet in some LED. Also mounted up my apex and some equipment on a board. Just going to go through and zip tie tomorrow. My back hurts enough for today.
