Hello everyone!

First I'm sorry for my bad english.
I'm Alp. Since 2012 (since I was 16 years old) my biggest dream has been to set up a reef aquarium.
In 2012, I set up an aquarium with a capacity of 60 liters / 15 gallons. It consisted of a few pieces of dead rock, blue and white T8 lighting, a self-made airstone protein skimmer and headpump. Unfortunately, my father wanted me to remove the aquarium as a punishment for losing my mobile phone as a his gift.
As he said, I removed it with great sadness...
During this process (while I was a high school student), I bought a New Jet 1200, a Skimz Overflow box, Hagos air stone protein skimmer and a Sobo wavemaker for future installations. But I won't be using any of them in this setup. After doing a lot of research (11 years is a long time really :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:)
I decided to do a setup a reef tank.
I do all my shopping with a credit card. I have a big debt. Well, everything will be fine..

My aquarium size should be no more than 100 cm (39 inches). The dimensions I have in mind are 100 cm (39 inches) long, 50 cm (19 inches) wide, 45 cm (17 inches) high. I think the thickness of the glass is 10 mm. The background will be black or white.
I will place the order as soon as I fix the location of the aquarium. I will choose the lighting system according to the aquarium. I can't find any Caribsea sand anywhere.

Thank you very much in advance for your advice and comments.

Equipment I bought:
  • Tunze Comline Stream Filter 3163
  • Tunze DOC 9004 Protein Skimmer
  • Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6020 Wave Maker
  • Tunze Nano Osmolotor 3152
  • Eheim Thermocontrol 75 Watt Heater
  • Portable Refractometre
  • TDS Meter
  • Reverse Osmosis System
  • CaribSea - Life Rock 18.14 kg
  • Seachem - Matrix 500ml

I bought Aqua Forest NP Pro, Pro Bio S, Pro Bio F as bacteria culture but now I have Prodibio Biodigest and Bioptim. We'll see if it's good. What do you think about these two brands?

Additionally, CaribSea-Rubble Zone was purchased.

Are those marks in the silicone itself?

The pics look like silicone on the glass which you can remove manually. If it’s the silicone damaged, I would contact the vendor.

I would send those pics to the vendor if the damage is actually within the seal. Even if it's not a threat to leak, it's a brand new tank and I don't think it's unreasonable to reach out.

I'm paranoid and would probably ask for a replacement if the tank had any abnormal damage/bubbles within the seal joint.

I’m not familiar with it, but it doesn’t look like it’s sand, but simply ground up limestone? I’d be worried about how it might impact your water parameters as it leaches lime or other minerals.

Why not use sand?
