Sooo I’m trying to decide how many fish for my new reefer nano, it’s a 21 gallon display with 7 gallon sump. Have a sicce syncra 3.0(over board, but what they had for used equipment when getting the tank). So display turnover is some stupid high number. I’m estimating 20-25 times per hour 525 gph after lift height loss estimate. I’m not planning on running a skimmer as I’ll be doing a 5 gallon/week water change and running a fuge with lots of rubble and macro.

So my stocking thoughts are.

Royal gramma basslet (only current resident)
2xblack-ray gobies(to be paired with a pair of candy cane pistols)
Purple firefish
Ocellaris clownfish

I’d love to add a carpenters wrasse... but I’m thinking that will be way too much in stead of just too much.

Thoughts? Condemnations? Accusations? Lol

Honestly I don't think any wrasse will work long term. They need to much room and you would need a top on the tank. A blenny might be a better option in that type of body shape. Looks great tho!

Thanks, ordered a kraken reef lid which is supposed to get here on Thursday. My goby jumped while waiting for it.

I was never really fond of the Pink Skunk Clowns, but I put one in my 20 gallon, and he really pops. I like the way he moves as well, compared to the typical Herky-jerky movements that other clowns make. I have 4 fish in the tank total: Yellow Tail Damsel, Green Chromis (2), Skunk Clown. They give just the right amount of movement.

So picked up a free clown today from a local reefer. So I guess I won’t be getting the wrasse, any thoughts on a tailspot blenny? Or would that be too many lower level fish?
