I've a nano 15gal and I'm looking for some cheap-ish lighting. I think I'll mainly do soft corals, so it doesnt need to be crazy fancy, but my main problem is I cant find many long nano lights! I can find ones for cube tanks at <60 euro, but any for long tanks are around 110. Does anyone have any suggestions orexplanation for why longs are so expensive?

something like this would probably suffice for soft corals, if you're sure you just want soft corals.

Long lights aren't that expensive if you either compromise on "color" or intensity.
Keep in mind some freshwater units actually push around 10-12000k spectrums.

According to them 60% white and 100% blue is 14000K (12.8W)
$38.99
16 total watts is a bit low for anything but low light stuff.

Sort of splits your pricepoint.
Get 2 if you need to. $80

Pricing goes a lot on power and it is hard to find a 30W or greater strip light in like 60cm.
Manuf. choice I guess.

A 50-ish W micmol AA-600 for your tank is $200US

$121 for equiv wattage Nicrews.

Yea, keep in mind when "repurposing" FW led lights that you won't have the big broad blue band that is currently favored.
Another thing you pay for .. :)

Oh and if you go this direction don't get any that use RGB diodes for the blue.
