Here’s the instructions: why do you think Red Sea wants a person to shake for 15 seconds for each of the 5 drops from bottle A?

Calcium tests precipitate magnesium, and if it is not complete, readings will be too high as it may detect some magnesium as calcium.

I tested my Ca this weekend and couldn't get it to hit on a titration test (meaning 500+)....so I just chucked the tests. lol. I'll do some water changes today but I'm not all that wound up about it.

That’s a magnesium test kit though.

Oh, sorry. I mistakenly assumed from the title we were talking about calcium. I expect it is the opposite: a step to bind up the calcium so it doesn’t show as magnesium.

Thank you. I also got confused because I just noticed this user has the exact same username as me. I thought I was being creative with mine lol.

My calcium is on the rise - my apex which was caliberated less than a month ago reads 720 and alk 8.75 mg 1301

should I be worried - only dosing is calcium reactor any reason it’s not working properly ? Ph for calcium reactor is 6.25
