Hello,

I'm a newbie looking for a light schedule for my setup. Also, I might need some help later on with setting up a few other things. I sincerely appreciate any help or suggestions. I appreciate any help you can provide.

My system is a Red Sea 250 G2.

x2 Kessil A360X
x2 Kessil A500X
x1 Kessil WI/FI Dongle
x1 Spectral controller X
x2 MP 40's
x1 Red Sea Reefwave 45
Red Sea ReefMat 500
Red Sea Reefer DC 600 Skimmer
Neptune Apex controller
Neptune Apex Dos
x3 Neptune Leak detection
Neptune Trident
Neptune AFS
Neptune PAR monitoring
Neptune LSM
EcoTech Marine Vectra L2
Nero 3 for sump
BRS 7 stage (250) RO/DI

I have 2 Kessil A360X and 2 Kessil A500X lights for a total of 4 lights. I currently set up 2 of the A500Xs on the outside mounted on the A- -series mounting arm with a single A360X in the center. I am running them from the WIFI dongle, I also have the spectral controller X.

I have the Apex controller and the PAR monitoring kit. At 60%, my PAR reads above 800. I currently have all lights set to 15% intensity, which at the sand bed reads 150 PAR.

I attached a few pictures, the wiring is in a work of progress

I just use their quick set program and modify it to my liking. I match the violet channel to the peak intensity and add in a little red and green (5-10%). I usually have a 6-8hr peak intensity period with a couple hours ramp on either end. Color % is your preference, but I like 20-40% depending on what I'm keeping.

Couple things. You dont HAVE to use the red and green channels. Some people love to have them but then not use them. I'm in the "turn them up to match overall intensity" camp. If you don't like how that looks, dim them to taste. But definitely make your violet channel match your intensity like @minus9 suggested.

With my kessils, I run a very simple profile with just a few set points. I have a one hour ramp up and a one hour ramp down and I keep it stable for 8 hours in the middle. I never saw the point in complicating it further then that.

Find the color you personally like best with the color slider. Match it with green, red, and violet, then reduce green and red individually to taste. Then adjust your intensity until your par is in a safe LED range (100-200 for lps and soft corals, and 250-400+ for sps depending on your skill level). Kessils are about as simple as it gets.

I like a very white looking tank, and I think they shimmer better when they're whiter. My 8 hour peak setting for 3 a360x units with 55 degree reflectors
color: 100%
intensity 76%
violet 88%
red 72%
green 85%

It's a goofy ratio and I am very much not scientific about it. I've just kind of nudged the numbers up here and there where I see fit. I'm working the violets to 100%, and the rest will likely stay put.

Bear in mind my kessils are really "supplemental" lighting, and my primary lights are reef breeders photon units. If i were running ONLY kessils, I would use way more than 3 on my tank, but otherwise my color and intensity approach would be the same. I like using the narrow lenses though because it allows me to get them elevated a good 12" off the water to keep them away from salt creep and humidity. They do spread better without the narrow lenses, but I dont need that as I have large panel fill light

Anyone use the Apex IOTA to run the Kessil? I ditched the Kessil controller and don’t quite understand the color translations to Apex.
