Anyone use the Ecotech barb and screen kit for their Vectra pumps?

I have an Vectra S1 pump and just noticed that Ecotech sells a barb and screen kit. I would considering using just the screen insert in order to keep large debris from entering the pump. Does anyone use this screen attachment and does it really help?

I have a vectra m2 and use this on it works well. I have pulled some stuff from it a couple times. I like it.
