I was thinking of picking up this fixture for my upcoming build of my 220 gallon sps/lps/ zoa mixed reef. The dimensions are: 72"x24"x29.. I know he tank is deep and that's the main reason for going halides. I also don't trust LEDs yet as the two different fixtures I used before (Ai Sol & Radion gen 2)did nothing useful for my previous reef tank. Which halide system would you go with the 250 watt radium or the 400 watt radiums? Also which ATI bulbs would you use? I love the 16k-20k look.

Here's the fixture I was referring to at marine depot.

I use the four foot version. Went with 250 watt radiums and run four T5 actinics. I did add some blue LEDS to give a little POP.

even with radiums it still needs more actinics? I was hoping I could avoid the frakensteinn clutter of needing soo many lights. The t5's don't add enough pop?

Have some fixture on a 300dd .I am able to get great growth with it.
do you have any pics? what bulbs are you using? With my tank dimensions would you go with the 250 watt radiums or the 400 watters? the tank being 29" deep will take some powerful lighting to go down that low.

My tank is 27 tall and there is plenty of light at bottom .I have 250watt and now have all 20 k but you could mix .at one time I had 10k in middle and 20k on ends or you can use all 10k with the t5 being blue .I had it that way at one time it's just. Question oh how much blue light you like. You could use 400 watt but 250 is good if you go with 400 be prepared for a much larger energy bill on an old 600 gallon I use to have 6 400 watt and vho and my energy was outrageous
