I'm adding to my existing rock for a tank upgrade (with a little help as you can see) and came up with this cave structure. What do we think about it in terms of trapping detritus? Other issues? Thanks!

I think it will definitely trap detritus but it looks big enough that you could get your siphon in there to clean up every once in a while. Looks like a good spot for a large colony of sun coral :)

I don't think it would trap any more detritus than a regular stacked rock configuration that everyone uses. I would suggest drilling small holes and using very small PVC pipe to connect the rocks. You can wrap the PVC in epoxy so it fits snug in the hole you've drilled. You don't want to constantly be rearranging the rockwork whenever you mount or cut frags. Also, you don't want to risk a rock falling and damaging your glass.

Amazing, that one rock looks just like a cat.
