SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon melapterus

COMMON NAME: Arabian Butterflyfish

SIZE: 4.7†(12 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 55 US Gal (208 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: Hard coral obligatory feeder.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: No.

CAPTIVE CARE: The Arabian Butterflyfish requires plenty of live small polyp corals as well as a good crop of algae to graze on. They should also be fed a varied diet for carnivores and herbivores a minimum of 3 times per day. This species prefers temperaturesin the range of 74-82 F (23-28 C) and needs to be provided with plenty of hiding places. Keep only one Arabian Butterfly per tank unless a proven pair is available.
