Hey, bought a pair of cardinals 5 days ago, the larger of the 2 never really had a good appetite, I’d assumed it may have been carrying eggs. But this morning this is what I see, no changes to tank params etc, and all other inhabitants including the other cardinal are ok… anything you think I can do? image.jpg

Fish looks thin and with shallow breathing may be moribund and have a low chance of recovery. Can be aggression issue especially if more than one and also genetic

Sorry, it does look moribund, actively dying. Here is a post about fish euthanasia:

There is a viral disease that affects wild caught cardinals, you should ask the dealer if these were captive raised or wild caught.

Thank you Jay. It was deffo a captive bred so sadly must have been something I bought him with. Appreciate the link, not a happy way to end the year, first fish death in a very long time :(
