After reading a bunch of reviews, I'm going to be plumbing my overflow Bean Animal style. Problem is there are so many pics and opinions on how. Please look at the attached pics and give an opinion on the proper design. Thank you

Looks about right. Mine- I placed a cap on the center pipe in your pic and drilled a hole and placed a piece of rigid tubing in the hole for a siphon break and tank is dead silent

Are you recommending to straight pipe everything in the overflow box (no tees, 90's, etc)? The main being below water level and a valve, the secondary at water level - no valve, and the emergency above water level?
Yep. And a strainer on the shortest drain.
