Yes just about a year. I mean it was clear from day one who was gonna be boss so I think that helped their pairing substantially we need these picasso's to start man

Yea I was just wondering how long the pairing took. It looks like around a year together is pretty average but I'm sure it can be quicker. But yea your pair will be filthy. I am most excited about the black picassos I have. I think I will split them and pair them with some nice onyx.

I don't know but those picassos probably need new genes since they are siblings. It would be advantageous to breed another onyx into the equation. Especially because the black picassos are very desirable.

Night 6 for the youngest babies . Still 5 juvis on day 26. Yea I can't count very well but there seems to be around 25 ish larvea Idk what I was thinking when I claimed I had 60. I'll have better luck with the next batch. I have only see 1 dead larvae that I had to siphon. I have added rotifers 3 times over the last 6 days. Starting to see a bit of aggression from the juvis towards the larvae.

So you have 5 from the last hatch in with the new fry? I have 14 from my last hatch that are just getting there first stripes now and I have my next hatch tomorrow night. The thought crossed my mind to just throw the new hatch with the 14 since they are in a 10g and there is plenty of room but I quickly decided against it. Now you have me thinking about it again.

Yea I'm very constricted on space. Ideally I would have the different clutches in different tanks. But my first round was a little bit older I think around , they were eating different foods and looked different enough that they ignored each other. I intentionally have been keeping the larval tank more concentrated with RGcomplete. The darker the tank the less visibility, so they only interact if they bump into eachother. When the youngest larvae pass meta they will all be moved to a 20 gallon that will be divided.

Strivers thank you for keeping up on this! I really want to start trying to collect my pink skunk pair just because of your thread. Great job!

Thanks guys!!! Breeding marine ornamentals has always been a goal of mine. I'm happy to be able to share my experiences. Eventually I will try something other than clowns but I'm content with my current challenges!!!

It's interesting the pectoral fins are solid black. Some fish are even getting black lines around their head stripe. I know they will be mostly black, but it's interesting to see how and when they will get dark.
