I added a black leopard wrasse around 2 weeks ago. For the first 5 days, it remained hidden…which I understand is pretty normal. It did finally come out briefly but was met by an aggressive melanurus wrasse that kept chasing it until it hid again. It has been several days since and I haven’t seen it come back out. The melanurus was trapped and removed yesterday (for other issues as well). Is there still a good chance on the leopard still being alive and just hiding still?

I’ve had one in QT with a Bipartitus for almost 5months now.

The Negrosensis is definitely more skittish than other wrasses. If anything startles her she’s in the sandbox for several hours.

If it was getting harassed I wouldn’t be surprised if it stayed under the sand for a week or so. don’t go looking for it as it’ll stress it even more.

They are on the docile side of the wrasses. Consider put all the Leopards in first, at least prior to wrasses like Melanurus. Hope this won't cause problem for your Black Leopard
