The first start of any good project. A little bit of demolition!
Getting rid of an old ventless fireplace that was never used

Moved the wall back, got rid of the strange angle, and a little bit (ok a lot) of spackle.

Well, good news is we had our second child. The bad news is I haven't had much time to work on this project. But, things are settling now, and I am back at it.
Slow and steady though... I knew going into this that this would be a lengthy process as this is our "dream tank" build.

Finished the paint and wall prep.

The tank has arrived!

Built the stand and moved into place.
Stand is based on Rocket Engineers design. I used 2x6s for all uprights and the top rail. I also added a center support since I planned on having access doors on the one side. The bottom rail is 2x4.The top is 3/4 plywood. I also skinned the sides in 1/4 plywood and added trim. The paint is Rustoleum oil based in Satin Black.

Next steps - Floor reinforcement, then tank placement, then plumbing.
