Maybe if you can shine a little light on there and try and take the picture again. I tried messing with it in photoshop, but I can't pick out much detail. It's like there's a little hole or something towards the bottom, so maybe a vermetid snail shell? A little extra light would go a long way.

You can just scrape them off where there's only a couple, or put super glue or putty over the opening. They're not "bad" per se and are just a nice little snail. Problem is they cast out a web to catch food and it basically irritates the corals nearby as it drags over them. Their numbers can also climb quite easily.
