Hello everyone.

I'm on the verge on getting a tank upgrade and will need to essentially double my light output as the tank will be twice as large.

I'm stumped as to how I will light the aquarium at this point.

Right now I run 3 Hydra 52HDs with 2 x 54 watt T5s on a 60" x 30" x 24" sized tank.

The new tank will be 60" x 60" x 24" and will have a 24" tall canopy.

I'm stuck between trying to engineer my own bracket or structure, using an existing AI rail system and somehow adding mounts for the T5s or???

A little help and input is appreciated.

I'm definitely willing to use the AI rail system with mounts for T5 and just hang it from the ceiling.

Pics would help for ideas. I know I can't be the only one wanting to use these lights with T5s inside a canopy.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Following. I'm wanting to do the same thing only with two 26s and retro kit upgrade from BRS.

Nice. Was that a standard rail system from someone or did you build that yourself?

I built it my self. I was able to get the parts locally. The sticks were cheap but the fittings: connectors were about $5 a piece. That's a 48" t5 Aruba retrofit kit. Total cost was just under $200.

I found them at a local shop in Denver. Check their website to see if there are any local suppliers to your area. If not there's always the online route but I would think that shipping on those pieces would be very costly.
