We have young clownfish, about 1in and 1.5in or less. They seem to get along well although very new and tiny.

Since I’m not discovering we will likely have an extra 1-2 tanks because of QT. I’m wondering if we could put one in a QT and find another clown to pair back up for our main tank?

We have two storms and the one was supposed to be black, but it’s mocha. My kid was a little upset about, so I was thinking maybe better to make the change now than later - unless ill advised?

The sooner you do it the better. Once they get bigger and older, they can get more picky, especially when the larger of the two becomes a female. Once that happens, you'll only be able to pair it with a male.
