Hi All,

I have a new reef tank (4months old. First one)
I've noticed these little guys crawling around in the dark.

Curious to what they are?

Thank you. Yes, I think there is a problem with the format.

Unfortunately, our fish got white spot so are out of the tank.
Waiting 3 months before we add more fish.

Do you think it's possible these little guys could get out of control?

Looks more like a large isopod to me. Most are harmless. @Isopod80 do you have an idea about this one? Good or bad?

They will continue to breed, though they do reach a carrying capacity at some point.
Nothing wrong with having a lot. The fish will get to feast once they get back in!
Fallow sucks, but it’s a good time for all the small organisms like these to really establish themselves and create a better (ich free) ecosystem!

Very rarely will you see them if you have fish in the tank as they will hide and only come out at night. Any that show during the day are ruthlessly murdered by my tang.

Agree with sharkbait. I once went fallow and the bugs exploded!!! More varieties than I can count. They covered r glass rocks etc. once the fish went back in after 70 days they were gone within days. Fish had a feast!!!!
