I got just the body of a LifeReef Skimmer, that was a mess. Baked on Slime. After Soaking it in Clorox, then Citric Acid, it was still a mess. I used Rock Salt and a little bit of water, Shook it and Rotated it. As the Rock Salt Dissolved, I added more. Came out looking close to new. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures.

I soak my skimmer bodies, including LifeReef, in hot water (at first) and a bit if muriatic acid for a day or two. They wipe down easy after that.

It was setting in his shed for awhile, so it was really baked on. He busted the Cup, years ago, by using hot water on it.
