Current CA level is 375. I want to slowly bring it up to 440 so I was going to first target 400ca. I want to dose esv bionic 2 part, no 2. My system volume is 275g. Instructions say to dose 1ml/4g and do not exceed 1ml/1g. At 1ml/4g this means I need to dose 69ml, and, if I were to dose more, do not exceed 275ml. When I use the brs calculator it's telling me to dose 429ml.

So do I dose 69ml or 275ml? Or do I ignore 1ml/1g warnings and dose 429ml?

Note, I am doing this to bring my CA levels up only. I have a CaRx that's keeping alk stable but I have long ignored my CA levels for various reasons.

Thanks!

Starr with the small dose and test again tomorrow to see the increase

Directions are for maintenance, not one time corrections. It's fine to boost it with the calcium part of B-ionic, if you need to.

Before you do that, the low calcium might just be from low salinity. Are you measuring salinity, and if so, how and what is it?

SG is 34.5 PPM.

ppt. How are you measuring it?

Assuming salinity is actually where you want it, then I'd split the B-ionic calcium portion dose in half and give one half one day and the other half the next day. There's no reason to go especially slow.

I'm using a Hanna HI98319 sg and temp tester which was recently calibrated.

Using this calculator, a dose of 343 ml of the calcium part of B-ionic in 275 gallons will boost calcium by 20 ppm.

I'd add that amount on one day, then again on a second day, and see where you are.

If I test early will I get inaccurate results?

You can test as soon as it is mixed in. Think of it like food coloring. As soon as the whole tank was one color, it is ready. Might be 10 minutes or less on a sumpless system, and might be a few hours with extended sumps and refugia.
