That’s a good idea and I completely agree it would be fantastic to see the club thriving and participation up. However, it doesn’t sound like one unified club. There’s also the issue of the many smaller clubs and the bureaucratic overhead of one governing entity.
I know of a large local state wide club close to us that holds meetings at different locations throughout the year so people around that state can be included. Perhaps exploring remote monthly online virtual meetings along with less frequent in person events could work. It’s become more and more prevalent with the technology available these days.
I also think it comes down to a bit of commitment from members to support the club and from the leadership to engage the members. I live in the very north east corner of the state. I’ve traveled to the NY line to trade frags. I formed carpools with members from my area to Manchester for monthly meetings. Our shared passion for the hobby made it worth while and fun. Some cool raffle items usually help too.
