Hello everyone. In my 29g reef tank I have a clean up crew consisting of, 4 Astrea snails, 1 mexican turbo, 3 blue legged hermits, 4 red legged hermits and 5 trocus snails. The thing is most of them are always on the very top of my rockwork where my light shines brightest. I originally assumed this was because thats where the most algae would grow but they've picked it clean for the most part and still sit on top of it. The only two things I can think of that would effect them is as I said thats where my light is brightest and closest, and I have a powerhead aimed at the top of the rockwork for flow. Could either of these be making them stay up there? There's still plenty of algae spots elsewhere in the aquarium.
