Ok, so I have a while to wait until I can start my OJT hours. I'm used to working 40-60 hours a week, and I am getting cabin fever studying at the house.

I have baked cookies, cakes, and lasagna; visited all sorts of fish stores; taken Alyssa to the shore several times; cleaned the house to the point it looks psychotic; rearranged my tanks; read all kinds of stuff on here... and um, it's not working although I must say my tanks look much better after being redone.

Any suggestions?
:D

So, for anyone who is wondering.. the sun coral is out and the goni and xenia are upset because I had to stick my hand in the tank. :( Sorry, but my scarlet hermit (He's pretty big) had tumbled one of the suns over. The sun coral comes out anytime he smells me in the tank now. I'll take pics later again when the others are happy.

The mandarin was hunting behind the rocks with my sea cucumber.

I can't wait until my MH gets here, I bet the whole tank is just going to *sparkle*

Oh, and that is my youngest daughter Alyssa, our dog Odie, and Bill the Cat in the last pic. Ashlynn (My oldest, 10) is in WA for the summer with her dad, and Tamra (9) lives in CO with her mom. Bill actually weighs more than the dog, if you can believe it. Chewy the cat couldn't be reached for comment at this time. He's out hunting by the river most likely at the time. (Right by our house is the mouth of the river where it empties out into the ocean, it's a cat's version of heaven).

Hope you liked,
Laurie

Lol, I like your cures for bordeom.....though many of them sound like they'd just make me fatter. You could come clean my house, man does it need it! Cool pics, hey, your cat looks just like my cat Rusty!

You have lots of girlies! Letsee, what could you do. Do you knit or crochet any? I went through a sock making phase. I'd buy like regular Old Navy roll down socks, ya know what i mean? Then I'd crochet rims around them, and work in all kinds of glittery sead beads. So pretty! My daughter likes them, and it cracks me up that you can buy a pair of beaded sock at Nordstroms for 18 bucks a pair, when I can make like a dozen for 18 bucks. Hehe.

So make socks!

That sounds really pretty! I have only tried to knit once. I made a winter hat for Alyssa when she was maybe 3. It was super long because I didn't really know when to quit knitting it. I net they would wind up with socks up to their mid thighs LOL

I'd like to make a wall quilt one day, maybe. I started to once, and then researched patterns online and got a bit discouraged. Math for the sake of fun just didn't seem right.

Argh... I have another cure for boredom... Transfer the 56 column reef BACK INTO the 55 long it came from, 4 days after you got it done in the first place... :(

The rockwork kept falling no matter what I did because the clean up crew (and blenny/gobies) didn't like it. After they crushed my blue crocea with a falling rock I gave in and switched EVERYTHING back into their old home. Tank 2, Laurie 0.

Oh well, the corals are happy again and I have had 24 continuos hours of no falling rock, so I think the clean up crew is happy too now. The panther grouper doesn't care what tank he is in, so I guess no blood no foul... except for my poor crocea.

RIP Benny Crocea!

My Poor Reef :( :

I should have never moved it in the first place, but I hope at least now they are back to where they like to be again and all is well. I am about to get a buch of newbies to the reef, so maybe the good vibes will spread.

Knock on wood, this is another 24 hours of the clean up crew being happy. I wish I knew why they kept toppling the rock in the column tank. And it was NOT easy to topple- I even drilled it and zip tied it. (Which is what killed the clam- because of the zip ties, not one but 2 large pieces fell and crushed him. :( ) They never did that in the long tank, and now that they are back, they aren't doing it anymore. Any thoughts????!!!!????

Cure for boredom #112: Paint your nails in coordination with your favoriate zoas. :flower: I have 'lunar' toes currently, purple base, and use the corner of the brush or a toothpick to sorta put very short orange streaks on the tips for skirts. I even had a very irridesenty orange glitter topcoat to cover it all with, Lunar Toes!!

Come on, you must have Asterina Toes! :D
