Hey gang, relatively new to the hobby and new to posting. I got a coral frag last year and found this little pink spec. After much carefull cultivation it is now almost 3 inches across and I assume a Marco of some.kind. Any help would.be appreciated

Welcome to Reef2Reef and sorry for the slow response!

Yeah, that's definitely a red macroalgae of some variety - I'm not great with macros yet, so I can't tell which kind from the pic, but it looks like it's probably a good/decorative kind.

Welcome!
Looks possibly like a red Codium species?

If you are able to trim a small piece of it off, like a single strand of the algae, and take photos of that it would help with ID.

looks a bit like that Laurencia. it has a very dense structure that doesn't change shape or size. The structure almost looks like a terrestrial fungus you would find on a rotten log.
