My desjardini tang has had this same spot on its left fin since Jan 28, I thought it was ich to I did the copper treatment late Jan early February. I did the coppersafe at 1.6-1.9 ppm. No other spots had came on its body. The tang is also not showing any other signs of ich. So I'm starting to think it's something else. I got the tang on Jan 21 and I think it had that spot when I got it but I only noticed it on Jan 28

It's safe to rule out ich if the spots remained in the same place since Jan 28th. Ich has a known life cycle and the parasite drops off the fish within 3-7 days into the substrate.

Also note that copper level with coppersafe is 2.5ppm at therapeutic dose to properly treat for ich and velvet.

The picture isn't great, It could be viral nodules or Lymphocystis but I suggest posting a better picture for proper diagnosis.

I'll try to get a better picture tomorrow. Also the spot is roughly half a mm if that helps.

I agree with @LAReefer4Life - that isn't ich and coppersafe needs to be dosed at 2.25 to 2.5 ppm

The most common cause of a white nodule in the clear fins of a fish is a broken fin ray. These can remain for a long time (months) and don't require any treatment.

That good then we'll then I'm going add him to my dt.
Ah - well, I was just saying that spot isn’t ich. The tang didn’t get a full run of copper, so I can’t tell you if it might be harboring something or not. What about going up to full dose copper for three days and then moving it?
