As far as I know there are only two aptasia in my tank but I do know how they proliferate, would I try filefish and peppermint shrimp, or should I just use aptasia x from red sea

I woudn't go the file fish or peppermint route for just two. If on sand, scoop them out getting an inch around them as well so as not to damage the aptasia accidently. If they're on rock...you can cover with coral/rock putty. Just make a big flat disc and cover it all at once. Did this my first 4 months with one I found and it's never come back in over 3 years.

I agree, just putty over them. If you see babies coming out of spots in the rock then you will need to get a shrimp because chances are if you can see one, there’s more hiding inside the rockwork
