When you look at ORA corals, they specify both PLACEMENT and LIGHTING.

High Placement does not alway relate directly to light needs and the other way around. What is the difference between placement and lighting?

ORA examples below....

Hyacinth Birdsnest....

Placement: Middle – Top

Lighting: Medium – High

Flow: Moderate – Strong

The ORA Bird of Paradise......

Placement: Bottom – Middle

Lighting: Medium – High

Flow: Moderate – Strong

ORA Green Birdsnest

Placement: Bottom – Middle

Lighting: Low – High

Flow: Moderate – Strong

If you get a PAR meter it will tell you what your light levels are. The placement depends on the type of lights you have and how much PAR they give. The bird of paradise likes par between 300-450. So depending on the strength of your light is where you will place it in the tank. If your high placement does not give PAR high enough then you would have to get a better light. I hope this is what you are asking. I am not an expert and have only been in the hobby for almost 2 years. Hope it helps anyways!!
