Dinos dying?

Been dealing with prorocenturum Dino’s for a few weeks. Started silicate dosing about a week ago and have diatoms popping up. Noticed this in a slide today. Looks like the shell of a Dino cell. Hopefully this is what happens when they die.

Looks like the shell of a Dino cell. Hopefully this is what happens when they die.
good news / bad news.
good: the shells (thecae) get left behind when they die.
bad: shells also get left behind when they multiply, splitting in two. :p
