I am building a DIY LED. I am using a Coralux 6 up board with Meanwell LDD drivers, and a storm controller. I bought the 6 up thinking I could use one of the drivers to power a fan. I want 5 channels for LED and one channel to power a variable speed fan.I only want one power supply to power this fixture. Is this possible? Coralux sells separate fan boards but they all seem to require a separate fan power supply.

Yea, I don't think your going to get that one to work, the LEDs are driven totally different than a 12VDC fan uses, its the way the current runs them. The DC fans run + (red) -(black). I'd just go to radio shack and get a 12vdc transformer plug in.

The fan board does require a separate power supply.

I saw someone do this I just cant find it. I know the fan will be more expensive and they are harder to find but it has to be possible otherwise all the big name brand LED's would have 2 power supplies. Unless there is a way to split the power supply before it gets to the LED driver board.

I don't believe a regular cpu fan will work for this reason.
If your using LEDs that are wired + to - to + to -. The DC fans don't operate that way. DC fans need a hot and a common, not one in one out. That make any sense?
