They had white specs on bases for a while, I dont recall on the zoa though.

I'm thinking there's something going on. Prep a dip solution and get a magnifying glass and let's see what those white patches are. If they're a spiral it's nudi's, if it's just a white little bubble, it may be pox.

I have it and I have polyps. Polyps are doing fine, I added a pipefish because I had lots of pods and I noticed he helped on that stuff too. They are harmless. I had it in my older tank.

Thanks so just leave stuff?

They're usually left over from the tanks beginning. I've seen them forever in the hobby and they've never caused harm. If you're thinking something is irritating the polyps you can scrape them off easily. I'd still suggest pulling the plugs and inspecting closely.
