I’ve got an IM Nuvo 40g and stand my wife said I can set up in the bedroom ;Woot

Get ready for a new Dsnakes build thread. I have everything I need for it. It will be used to fatten up my Convict Tang and Foxface that are almost paper thin in the display. After they fatten and go back in I’ll use it for a frag tank and move my Black Leopard clowns from the sump to it.

I'm cheering for the tang and rabbitfish, but a 40g frag tank with black leopard clowns!!! ;Wideyed ;Wideyed ;Wideyed

No sarcasm at all, I really think that will be a great tank - aquaculture and clownfish at their finest! I hope to add something similar to my menagerie at some point. That sounds like an amazing tank!

Can you take 2 new pics of your tank in this view and the opposite of it? I will make something for you.
At the same time so the light is the same.

Thanks, hopefully it works. The 40 is taller than the 20 I had under the tv last. Seems pretty close. Doesn’t leave much of any room for light. Maybe I’ll put the 20g on the 40 stand. They’re the same width.

I’m not 100% sure I’m following you. Opposite as in the hallway end? Or tank side? Here’s a few. Don’t mind the dog :p

OK here's what I came up with for the back, front will take a bit to do but give me till tomorrow ;)

I did 2, with and without the arch support. I think you will need to keep the arch support so I did it that way after I finished the without.

OK here's the front too. Was easier this time

Awesome! My wife is actually loving the one without the support. I hope I can get away with it. It really depends what the builder thinks.

My wife just asked how much it will cost ;Greedy ;Drool;Drool

I just talked with my builder. He said we will have to keep the arch support :(

It will still be an awesome upgrade though. I guess I should start saving my pennies!

Would be quite a beam to span the wall and arch without a support. You could still get rid of the drywall corner with some kind of decorative post.
I like that idea. Something with wood grain to play off the floor color.

Stained wood post sounds nice and a metal post can be wrapped in pretty much anything. Leave enough room to get to the tank. Might be able to make the arched opening smaller if you want.

Lots of possibilities depending how far off the deep end you want to go! You on a slab or crawl space?

Thats true. Somewhat of a crawl space I guess. The house sits on pilings with lattice around it. The area under the tank location was reinforced when we built the house. I didn’t want to take any chances.
