Hi, I was just wondering what effect high alkalinity (around 12-15) could have on fish and inverts. I'm aware how it effects corals but can't seem to find anywhere discussing its effects on fish.

I've not really heard of any effect, but that doesn't mean there isn't any.

In Captive Seawater Fishes, Steven Spotte has a few dozen entries in the index on alkalinity and its importance in a fish aquarium and its effects of various sorts, and none suggest a clear impact on fish, aside from indirect effects such as pH, etc.
